Post 5: Education in times of Strikes.

In this post I will write about some milestones of education in Chile in the neoliberal Latin American oasis. I chose this country because it is a reality in which I am inserted and because it is an unequal, precarious and discriminatory educational system. ´La revolución pinguina´ named after the historic and massive student marches in 2011 and from there until today, they have brought small milestones that have superficially transformed Chilean education in recent times. As of 2016, the gratuity implemented in the government of Michelle Bachelet begins to rule, this has a great impact since public education is opened and allows students to have the right to study without getting into debt.  Also, years later, the ´Ley de inclusión escolar´ was enacted, which encourages the non-selection of students in municipal schools. There really have not been many historical milestones in recent education because education is still a business and it is not a safe space for the promotion of knowle

my pet

In my life I have only had one animal that has lived with me. My pet was a dog and his name was Cosmo. I remember we brought my dog to Santiago when I was only five. At my aunt’s house in Talca, a dog had several puppies and I wanted to adopt one. I insisted that my family adopt it. My dog was very kind to us, needed a lot of affection and enjoyed being loved by us. He respected his space and his freedom because sometimes he did not like physical contact or that we invaded much his space. In fact, I remember he bit me a couple of times. He was also a very good guardian and liked to eat a lot. He was a black dog, had short hair and was large in size. He died last year and it was very sad for me because he was with us for more than a decade. I still love him very much and I thank life for giving me the chance to have a pet and live with a non-human animal.

my favorite TV shows when I was a kid

When I was a kid, my favorite TV shows I remember were SpongeBob SquarePants, Rugrats, Hey Arnold, Rocket Powers, Drake & Josh, among other great series that today are classic cartoons. I watched a lot of Nickelodeon with my brothers. Currently I can still enjoy some of those animated series, I recently watched Hey Arnold. When I was 10 or 11, I remember enjoying watching Hi-5, a TV show for kids on Discovery Kids. It was a very famous Australian program in Latin America. On the other hand, I really liked watching Chilean TV series like Los pulentos. An animated series of kids who make hip-hop music. I loved the characters of Tom York and Jorge, the dog. At that time I was also watching a television series broadcast by Mega called BKN. This series was about a group of young people who wanted to make a band. I remember enjoying listening to their music. It is currently on digital platforms such as Spotify or YouTube. From that same television channel, I remember watching series like
